While on the phone with their rep. I was quoted that the normal monthly fee was 79.95, but since I live in Oregon I would get a discount and the monthly fee would only be 64.99.
When asked to sign the contract it shows the fee still @***.95. Very misleading... I have refused to sign my contract until Intoxalock gives me the price I was originally quoted... From other reviews that I have read, Intoxalock is a scam.
Also upon initially receiving the product, they provided no mouth piece, so if the device gets damaged it on them. I would never refer anyone to this company.
Avoid intoxalock at all costs... It's also hard to get in contact with their support center.

Definition of Intoxalock: Customer No Service
Unfortunately I have Intoxalock on speed dial. No not because of Lock outs or any technical issues I may have caused, But because their customer service, computer system, billing and shipping departments.
I will not go over all the past issues I had with the initial install of the device 13 months ago, that's already been stated here. I will only cover the most recent issue from December 13, 2016 that I am still trying to deal with. In Connecticut since around 7/1/16 we no longer need to have the calibration units shipped. The location you go to for the exchange does the recalibration on site.
This is great as you don't need to wait for the UPS driver to arrive to swap out your device. unfortunately I have been only able to take advantage of this new CT regulation 1 time as they continue to ship the devices. Once the device has been shipped you need to wait for the UPS guy/gal. Well on 12/11/16 I ordered my recalibration and when I completed the computer stated that it was going to be shipped.
I immediately called Intoxalock and was told that it always says that and that the computer system has not been updated enough for it not to state that (Nice update on your computer system Intoxalock). I said are you absolutely sure as I need to do my recalibration this month on 12/14 as I was going out of town and when they ship on Mondays it arrives on Thursday, in this case 12/15, 1 day later than I needed. The Intoxalock rep assured me it would not get shipped. Well of course on Monday after 9 PM I receive an email with a shipping tracking number.
Working 3rd shift and having Intoxalock on speed dial for many other mistakes by their various departments over the 13 months, I knew that there were no supervisors on at that time. So I called the next morning. I knew from previous horrible experiences that my situation was going to have to be solved by a supervisor. To speak to a supervisor your told that a supervisor your told that a supervisor will call you back within 24 hours.
That in itself is a joke. with all the different issues I have had not 1 time has a supervisor ever called back within 24 hours (must be because of so many complaints). For the current situation which I diverted from it will be over 48 hours by the time they read this. So back to the situation at hand.
When I explained to the customer service rep how a new unit was shipped and that we were now about 24 hours away from my desired recalibration and that they shipped a unit that should not have been shipped she spoke to a supervisor on my behave while I was on hold for about 20 minutes. But the situation was solved, or so I thought. Intoxalock was going to ship another unit FREE of CHARGE under overnight shipping so that it would arrive by 10 AM on 12/14. YEAH I can go on my trip with no issues.
Oooops spoke to soon. Guess what shows up on my invoice? An extra charge of $32 not even the previous charge of $19 that had happened a few months previous when I made a mistake and didn't order a shipment in time but $32. I'm like I guess they figured I would not notice since I have auto-bill to a credit card.
They probably would have been right except the same situation with them getting ready to ship another unit for this month happened again. Well I called and allegedly the supervisor needs to listen to the recording of my call on 12/13. Fine I said to the rep I know the Overnight shipped unit was on them. So the supervisor will contact me within 24 hrs.
Will they refund me the $32 or not? I don't know yet. I know that I did not receive the "CALL BACK" from the supervisor within 48 hrs let alone the 24 hrs they state. I also know that I have Intoxalock on speed dial for their many issues with many departments and that I did not write reviews on those many issues except for the initial install which was a complete disaster.
That was my mistake I should have reviewed each time.
The only other thing I know is that my lease on my car is up in July 2017. Which is the perfect time to remove this customer NO SERVICE company, Intoxalock, for a better IID service.

Intoxalock - Ignition Interlock Device Review
The first device had caused me nothing but problems from the beginning. It constantly said I had been drinking , even to go so far once as to making my horn blow non-stop and lights flash while I was sitting in traffic!!
It consistently had wrong readings, and Everytime I talk to someone at the company , they say it must be something I am doing wrong ! Had to send the device back and get another one sent. The company said they tested the device and that there was nothing wrong with it at all, even tho it had said I was over the legal limit, then again and again every two minutes or so when I would retest, the alcohol level would drop significantly!! Until within 14 minutes it was zero again, and I DONT EVEN DRINK!!!!!
I have to have this device because there was an opiate in my system. The company told me the device worked perfectly, tacked on another $90 fee to my already outrageous monthly bill of $69, to send me another used and dirty device !!!!! Now I have to worry about how many times that old device said I had been drinking, cause it's all recorded somewhere , and it'll eventually be read by the courts. Got the second device.
This one does the EXACT SAME THING, but is even worse!! This one consistently lockout, keeps my car from starting , has issues, needs codes that I have never received , etc. And Everytime I manage to get intoxalock on the phone , which sometimes I never even get through, they say it's my fault and I must be wearing perfume or I used mouthwash...Etc.. seriously ???!!!
The device has issues, they've had to have me unplug it a bunch of times and let it sit , talk me through lots of *** just to try and get it to work ... But somehow it's always my fault. These things and this company are a friggin nightmare. I do not ever receive the help I need , and if I do get another used device sent , I'll have to pay another $90.
I don't have that kinda money. And I don't have the time to keep dickin with this piece of *** or waiting 30+ minutes to get someone on the phone for help.
Horrible Customer Service
I have had intoxalock for about 3 months, 1 calibration. My battery recently died and which put me in a lockout.
I called a reported that my car had been having trouble starting before the battery died. As I wasn't sure when I could afford to get a new battery and also if it was even the battery or starter. I called a couple times a week for two weeks just to keep them updated. I kept my car on a charger over night a few times, then my battery charger wasn't working.
My car completely died. I had talked to several different customer service representatives and thought I was doing the right thing by reporting it. One lady was very helpful and credited my account for the lock out fee since it was documented. Next thing I know once I get my statement, I had a huge balance on it from this lock out.
I was in tears. I then talked to someone and she says they was nothing they could do, and I had mentioned it was documented what was going on.
She then gave me half a refund instead of the full, which I find unfair..obviously they were wrong to even take it at all but to now only give me half has me puzzled. Everytime you call them you get a different representative and they all tell you and lead you in a different direction, it is so frustrating!!!

Where do I start with this company and their disrespect for the consumer!! Their faulty equipment was completely to blame for several lock outs at places that were unsafe, and disrupted the normal flow of traffic.
Such as in the gas station, at the gas pump. All due to "spicy foods?" Okay, so who would be *** enough to go into the gas station and drink alcohol, knowing your car was parked at the pump? Then locked me out at Dr. office in 10` weather.
The representative HUNG UP ON ME! when I told her the car device did not allow me to blow into the device, but just locked me out and stated that I did not service the unit in time. This was on Dec. 28, 2015.
My unit just got delivered and calibrated 7 days before this, it is suppose to be calibrated in 30 day intervals. There was nothing that I did wrong. I had just drove myself to the doctors office due to having acute asthmatic bronchitis and it was extremely cold outside. The appt.
ended at 4:30 pm and was 25 miles from my home. The representative told me there was nothing she could do and advised me to call a tow truck! I have never been so scared or felt so hopeless that I was in a bad situation. There was no one that I could call to come help me and my last straw was when the representative actually HUNG UP ON ME!
Well, after I hitchhiked a ride home, sicker than a dog, I was told to call them back Monday morning and the manager would be in, named Chase. They would not ever connect me to him and I waited on hold for over 30 minutes each time. They purposely gave me the run around. I could not afford a tow truck and my car was impounded.
The impound fees outvalued the car within a few days and these people still wouldn't accept any portion of the blame. in fact, they withdrew 260.00 out of my account that was completly unauthorized. When I convinced the tow yard to let me have the device out of my car, so I could send it to them for their "inspection" I was told by one of the representatives that if it was to be found fautlty, I would be credited the lock out fee and any expenses related to this fautly diagnosis. She was the only one that I have EVER spoke with that was human and understanding (unfortunately, I don't remember her name and seriously doubt she still works for this unethical company) I sent the device in and they claimed it had in fact been in error but they still refused to refund me any money, in fact, they continued to charge me for a device that I couldn't even use because I had NO CAR to drive any longer.
I would seriously consider other companies before you trust this company as they have screwed me over in dollars of a sickening proportion. And, did I mention that my bronchitis developed into phenomena after walking in the frigid weather down the highway in the dark. I am surprised this company has not been shut down due to their illegal and inconsiderate business practices. And the way they judge us people who have been convicted of a D.U.I.I.
was of absolute prejudice as if we were a lesser person.
My D.U.I.I. was not even due to alcohol consumption - I don't even drink!!!

I did talk with a customer relations specialist at Intoxalock, but that's where I learned about several false positives associated with this product. Any leak from your engine compartment such as coolant, defroster, vents pose leaks that can pose failures.
Gas with ethanol and other alcohol products, even with the door open or windows down can lead to a false failure of your intoxalock product. My recommendation is to find a company which sells interlocks where you only blow into and not inhale and blow again. There are several which have less issues than I experienced. In Winter blue and inhale only with windows down and fresh air flowing.
Be careful of the contaminants in the air and your surroundings.
I have since spoken with an attorney who says everyone's lung capacity is different and everyone processes alcohol throughout their body differently. There are many forms of alcohol not just the form that leads to intoxication which makes a device like this difficult to accept when the exigent circumstances may not be related to alcohol one may ingest.
Since I received this certain device it takes on average 55 seconds to cycle through. It started failing myself and then my girlfriend in the middle of drives.
No alcohol, no food, rinse with water, drink water. It has been failing and I bought a law enforcement grade hand held breathalyzer to prove our reading is a .000 it has been so frustrating this time around!

This company is a piece of $#$@..... that takes advantage of you from day one....
not only will you most likely be forced to tow your car at some point and get trapped with hidden fees BUT.... THEY WILL TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR BANK ACCOUNT UNAUTHORIZED once they have it on file and then when you complain, they say you agreed to it in their terms of service... SCAMMERS! Cost me at least 400$ extra dollars from completely screwing up all my finances and not to mention credit score!!
Caused my first ever missed payments on my CC's in over 12 years! How could they be any worse, really?

I have had Intoxalock for a week and it's been a nightmare. Two issues: 1.
Even after I pass the breath test and it says to start car, the car keeps not starting. So I sit there and wait the 2 minutes, blow again and it says to start the car, but the car won't start and so on. Then after 10 or so tries and 30 minutes of sitting there, the car will start. This has happened 3x on a week.
Before Intoxalock, the car never faltered in starting. 2. I got a violation from using mouthwash and the system recorded a second violation, but I'm not sure what for, as i never got any notice about it, just that i had 4 days to get the unit replaced. So i had to shop the unit back to Intoxalock and get a new unit at considerable expense.
I'm waiting for a review from Intoxalock. So not real thrilled that the car os virtually unusable after just about a week with Intoxalock installed.
Resolved: I never heard the unit ask for a rolling retest, and my horn didnt honk or lights flash.
The problem was solved first thing this morning. I am satisfied with the resolution. Thank you Brandi.
I haven't even had this unit for a month and have had two unpleasant interactions with a rep named sean. Every time I asked a question he would either say he was about to explain that to me.
How is he going to explain my next question before I asked it? He couldn't he was wasting time explaining things to me interrupting me. He would ramble about things I already knew because he was busier talking than listening. To the problem at hand.
I drop approximately 3 miles the other day, I got in my car, did the initial startup test and drove home. About 4 blocks from my home I noticed the unit Going off making all sorts of noise. I assumed I missed a test? I honestly have no clue what happened.
I was told to send in the unit to get a new one and that I would be charged roughly $90 for shipping, and other fees. Now, I was told that my car would honk, and lights would flash. I didn't hear or see anything happening. I'm pretty sure I didnt miss any sort of test.
I was told the unit would be inspected and the reason it was locked out in the first place could be explained to me, and that I would be able to dispute the charge if it were erroneous. Come to today I have been on hold multiple times for over 20 minutes, and get multiple conflicting answers. One lady told me that it would honk and flash lights if i missed a test. I told her I didnt have that happen and she said she wasn't sure if that would actually happen.
Now I look at my invoice and it says ARS fee and DMG Pr Fee. I assume that means I damaged something? I don't have any clue how I would have damaged anything using it only for a couple weeks. I can't get a consistent answer, I'm on hold non stop, and I'm getting charged for things I'm not even sure what they mean, and I can't ask what they mean.
I feel like this is another trap. I haven't drank alcohol since February, and I'm trying to do good. I just want a fair crack.
I'm incredibly unhappy with this situation. I feel like I'm being cheated.
